Wood, the 2024 MAC Individual Smallbore Champion, led the Rhody Rams in their season opener at MIT with a match-high, and conference-high, 574 in smallbore. Wood currently ranks first in the conference in the smallbore event.

Trinkle, the defending MAC Individual Smallbore Champion, led Mount Aloysius to victory over Norwich with a smallbore score of 569. Trinkle currently ranks second in the conference for this event.
Stevens, a rookie at Mount Aloysius, fired a score of 564 in the smallbore event at West Virginia University, besting his career high fired one week prior at Army. This career best score was good for a top ten finish in the Mounties’ NCAA match and a second place finish in the conference postal portion against MIT.
Travison fired a season high 553 in the smallbore event to take second place in the Rams' faceoff against the Bears this weekend. His score also boosts his individual conference ranking from 11th to 9th for smallbore, making him one of two URI athletes in the top ten.
Yang earns the Smallbore Athlete of the Week honor after firing a season high in the event this weekend with a score of 565. Her performance led the MIT Engineers to their season high score against John Jay and boosted her into fifth overall in conference smallbore individual average.
Hayman fired a score of 548 at Akron to continue a streak of remarkable consistency in the event this season. The second-year athlete has a spread of just four points across all matches fired this fall, positioning herself among the most consistent smallbore shooters in the conference.
Canning, in her fourth and final season, fired a score of 551 against Rhode Island and SUNY Maritime. Currently ranked 12th in the event, she boasts an average of 549.25 and has fired a 551 in three of four matches this season, making her one of the most consistent smallbore athletes in the MAC.
Schreiner Mountaineer Molly Mitchell fired a conference-high 579 at TCU against Ohio State. Mitchell's personal record mark is the highest individual smallbore score fired by a Schreiner athlete in the program's NCAA era. She ranks second in the event in the MAC, and is the top rookie athlete for smallbore.
Lopez is the third Rhode Island Ram to earn an Athlete of the Week honor this season, coming into the spring semester with steadily increasing smallbore scores that have boosted her to 7th overall individually in the MAC for the event. She was the second highest smallbore scorer in the Rams' tri-match with John Jay and SUNY Maritime on January 24th, trailing her teammate by just two points with a 562.
Senior team captain Isabella Evans earns Smallbore Athlete of the Week after firing a score of 540, her season high in the event. Evans was an at-large qualifier to last year's Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference Championship and looks to return at the end of the month, this time with the rest of her team in tow as the Mountaineers are on track for a team berth in both events.
Antonelli earned the top position in air rifle with a score of 566 at MIT's season opener at Norwich to lead the Engineer to victory.

Dalwala, in her debut for John Jay College, is the first rookie to earn Athlete of the Week this season after firing a 582 in air rifle to place in the top ten at John Jay’s NCAA match against VMI & Wofford and first overall in the MAC postal portion vs Coast Guard. Dalwala currently ranks third in the MAC for air rifle.
Anderson fired a career high of 579 in air rifle to help lead the Mountaineers to a season high two-gun aggregate score against Nebraska. A 2025 All-MAC Second Team selection for air rifle, she won the event for the postal against Norwich and notched a sixth place finish in their NCAA match against the Huskers.
Schneider earns Air Rifle Athlete of the Week after leading the Bears with a 560 to take third place individually in the event against Rhode Island. She is the top-ranked Coast Guard athlete for smallbore and air rifle average, having earned an at-large invitation to the MAC Championship tournament last season in both events.
Castel takes home Air Rifle Athlete of the Week after firing a score of 573 at the WVU Fall Classic. She is the fourth Mountie to take home an Athlete of the Week honor so far this season and sits in sixth overall for individual air rifle average.
Miller earns her second Air Rifle Athlete of the Week honor for 2025 after posting a 587 at Akron, the third highest conference air rifle score so far this season. Miller currently owns the top 4 individual air scores fired in the MAC this year and leads the conference in individual air rifle average.
Maria Belov fired a career best 566 to help the Bloodhounds win the air rifle portion of their December 7th match against Rhode Island and SUNY Maritime. She currently ranks in the conference's top 20 for the event.
Norwich Cadet Kathryn Gillooly is the first Cadet to earn an Athlete of the Week award this season. In Norwich's home match against Rhode Island, Gillooly tied for second place individually with a score of 569 including a 99/100 on her second to last ten-shot series.
Dan joins her fellow Bloodhounds as the third John Jay athlete to earn Air Rifle Athlete of the Week and fourth to earn any Athlete of the Week accolade this season. She fired a season-high 559 in air rifle in the Bloodhounds' January 24th tri-match against Rhode Island and SUNY Maritime, good for a top-5 finish that contributed to a strong team performance in the absence of several crucial scoring team members.
Freshman Christian Nickerson rounded out a strong scoring team for Schreiner this weekend, firing a score of 506. He ranks among the top ten Rookie athletes for the conference in air rifle this season, adding depth to the Mountaineers' roster as he takes home their fourth Athlete of the Week accolade this season.
Evans is a four-year member and current Team Captain of the Schreiner University Rifle Team, serving as a constant for a growing and changing program which has seen multiple coaches in the past five years and recently underwent a major transition from Club Sport to NCAA Sport.
Not only has she excelled in this role, but she also excels on the firing line. So far this season, she delivered strong results across every match, earning averages of 536.5 in smallbore, 560.75 in air rifle, and 1097.25 in aggregate. Her aggregates have ranged from 1089 to 1106, reflecting reliability and competitive consistency across all venues.
Beyond her scores, Isabella exemplifies outstanding leadership, maturity, and sportsmanship. She sets the standard for work ethic, mentors younger athletes, and strengthens her team's culture in meaningful and lasting ways. For her performance, consistency, and servant-hearted leadership—as well as the legacy she leaves behind—Isabella Evans is highly deserving of Returner Recognition.
Simmons, a Norwich University Rifle Team senior who has been a member of the rifle team all four years, fired personal records in two of the Cadets' four matches this fall after focusing his competitive efforts on the air rifle discipline. Though he is a leader on the range, his role on the team is much more than that of a competitor. Simmons brings positivity and motivation to his team both on the range and around campus as he assists with academics.
He is set to complete his degree and commission into the U.S. Navy in December 2026, Simmons serves as a testament to his teammates what hard work and dedication can lead to, both in shooting and in the classroom.
Negrete, a sophomore with the Norwich University Rifle Team, earns a Returner Recognition for her strong leadership and versatility despite being early in her collegiate career.
In just her second year as a member of the team, Negrete's scores have skyrocketed this fall, shooting her personal record in Air Rifle against a tough Ohio State team in the first road match of her collegiate career. On the range, she is known for her calm demeanor and for always being willing to help her teammates or coaching staff.
Off the range, Negrete holds an athletic liaison position in the Corps of Cadets and ensures that teammates that are in the Corps are receiving the most up to date information. Not only focused on those who choose to join the Corps of Cadets, she has also been integral in assisting new members of the team adjust to life at Norwich as students and as varsity athletes regardless of their chosen lifestyle on campus.
A 2024 Rookie Recognition recipient, MIT Rifle's Avaneesh Pal is now a 2025 Returner Recognition earner.
Pal had a standout Rookie season last year as a true freshman and has only continued to build on that success. For the 2024-25 season, he was named to both Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference All-Rookie teams as well as the All-Academic team. This season, he has improved his averages by 15 points in smallbore and 10 points in air rifle.
He consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, making noticeable progress over the past two seasons. His dedication, improvement, and positive attitude set him apart as a leader on the Engineers Rifle team. Head Coach Melissa Mulloy-Mecozzi remarks, "I'm excited to see what he will accomplish in the future."
Schreiner Mountaineer Cora Anderson earns a Returner Recognition this season for her remarkable contributions as a leader in just her second year with the program.
Anderson is one of two athletes on the Schreiner roster to maintain averages in the top ten individually for both events, contributing steadily increasing scores to the Mountaineers' team totals each week this fall. She is also a two-time MAC Athlete of the Week honoree, earning the recognition for smallbore in November 2024 and for air rifle in November 2025, and garnered an individual selection for the Smallbore Championship match at last season's MAC Tournament.
Beyond her range performance, Anderson serves as the Schreiner University Rifle Team's Freshman Mentor, playing a pivotal role in helping new athletes transition into NCAA competition. In this position, she models professionalism, calm focus, and genuine encouragement, quickly becoming someone that Mountaineer underclassmen trust and look up to.
Knowlton joins the Engineers for his first season with crucial prior competitive experience in Sporter Rifle. This background has allowed him to become an immediate contributor to MIT Rifle as a counter in both events for all four of the Engineers' matches thus far. His early success has only augmented his work ethic as he consistently displays strong focus and patience in developing his skills further during training. Head Coach Melissa Mulloy-Mecozzi remarks, "I'm excited to see how far he can take this."
This season, Mitchell has established herself as the top scorer for Schreiner elite-level consistency and leading their roster in nearly every statistical category.
Across four major matches, Mitchell posted outstanding scores and finished the fall semester with exceptional season averages that have ranked her in the top 5 in the MAC in smallbore and top 10 for air rifle. Her match aggregates have demonstrated remarkable precision and reliability, consistently elevating the competitive standard both at Schreiner and for the conference.
Head Coach Tim McGuire remarks, "What makes Molly truly exceptional is not just her performance on the line, but her commitment off of it. She maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA, embodying what it means to be a scholar-athlete and setting an example of discipline, balance, and academic excellence for her teammates."
In her first year with the Cadets, freshman Meghan Smith has shown an impressive ability to transition from junior competition to collegiate competition with ease, an adjustment that can be difficult for many athletes. Highlighting her versatility is her position as the top-scoring aggregate athlete for Norwich, setting personal records multiple times this season.
Delarosa Cuenca joins the Norwich University Rifle Team as an academic sophomore for her Rookie season. This is not the only major addition to her collegiate experience, as she has taken on the challenge of transitioning into the Norwich Corps of Cadets as well. Despite such big changes, Delarosa Cuenca has put in the work and thrived on the range. This fall she increased her personal record in air rifle by over 50 points - enough to be in consideration for a spot in the Cadets' starting five heading into the spring.
